Ok I'm going to start by saying this is not a romance but a mystery, I'm ok with that.
It starts with the first chapter in the mind of the abductor and I liked this, I think it was needed, it really showed just how mentally unstable Marnie was. If this wasn't included it would have been easy to just make her out to be the cold blooded kidnapper. It doesn't excuse what she did, but made her a 3 dimensional character not a cut out copy of a character.
I love animals and the idea of being able to understand what is in their brains is a great one, and I really liked that the author used an animal psychic, as this is a different take on the psychic usually used.
