Chase in Shadow

Chase in Shadow - Amy Lane Superb start to the series
This is not an easy read. It is a rollercoaster of emotions as we struggle along with Chase trying to find himself and be true to himself.
Chase is a great character, although it hurt to be in his mind at times, he is so confused and damaged, trying to do the right thing by everyone, but living in his pretty world of denial. His early life was heartbreaking and the psychological damage that his mum's suicide leaves is hard to read. Through the ups and the downs, tears and laughter, I was cheering him on, hoping to see him happy and healthy
I love Tommy, he is such strong character. He had his own issues during the book, but his fight for his and Chase's relationship was beautiful. He just kept at it.
I'm usually not a big fan of cheating books, but with this one, that aspect didn't really bother me. Maybe it was because we were in Chase's head and saw just how hard he was fighting and the guilt.
I felt for Mercy, who was the innocent party for most of the book, up until she did what she did. I don't care if you feel your partner is pulling away, that is no excuse. (yes I had a more negative reaction to this story line than the cheating storyline) She redeemed herself by the end of the book, but the damage was already done.
I love the guys from Johnnies, the distinct personalities of each of the guys shines through, and the friendship between the guys outside of the working environment was fantastic.
Moving onto Dex's story
