Didn't work for me

I read a lot of shifter books and usually like the enemies to lovers theme, but in this book I think the wolf shifter was a convenient plot. The guys went from wanting to kill each other to imprinting and claiming so quick, that the need to,protect the other came solely from the mate bond. It was a short story, so there couldn't be a lot of detail about the start of their relationship but I'm not convinced the guys actually even like each other without that mate bond.
The plot without the mating was good and could have been expanded to make this into a full length book.
I know there is a second book but I am unsure if I want to continue with this series.
